Being transparent as he is is something the fans and probably local media like, but isn't exactly doing yourself any favors in regards to showing your cards to the opponents. 
 

They openly said they were in love with Geno Smith after meeting with him on multiple occasions, and then passed on him twice. He knows what he's doing.
