If you want to make this about Blake, then we should be taking the option most likely to succeed. If we need Blake to be successful and the run game is a huge part of that why take an unnecessary risk? That just doesnt make any sense.


And on top of that, theres a draft two months away thats the deepest at RB its been in the last decade. Why would we spend money on the least valued position on the field on a 32 year old when we could just draft a young running back and have him for cheap.


No you cant build a case against any player in the league, not reasonable ones. This idea that were just sitting on money and not using it is kind of flawed. We gutted our entire roster have been rebuilding it for the last 4 years. I dont know where you think our money is going to go when we dont have franchise players coming up to resign for a little while longer. Were not going to use that money all on FAs, thats just not how building teams works. And theres 31 other teams in the league, if you think were just gonna be snatching up the top guys at every position that's inaccurate as well. Just cause we have money doesnt mean we need to spend it. Were not overly frugal its just pretty difficult to spend vast amounts of money unless youre re-signing your own talent and the little talent we have is still on rookie contracts.


Theres just really no case to be made that AP deserves a look from us. No matter how much of a freak AP is, all signs point to him not being who he was. Is it possible? Yes. Is it likely? No. Should we put the run game that is apparently essential to our franchise quarterback in the hands of a guy who might not actually be able to get it done? No. If the run game is that important theres no reason to even gamble that when theres plenty of other safer options out there.

So what you're saying is that the run game is important but is not worth spending money on. The draft is full of guys ready to come in, just like Yeldon has. Peterson had a torn meniscus last year, that isn't like another ACL. He is 37 carries removed from 1500 yards and a rushing title. 

Everything I am reading points to him not being that expensive given the things you are talking about. What is the risk exactly on a 2 year deal? 

 

Is there a player that you are not negative about bringing in then? Is there anything you are not negative on in general?
