Running Back: What Round?
|
Quote:He fumbles a ton, isn't very agile and played some of the worst run defenses in college all year. He's a big guy who can run fast and block well. D'Onta's game is more speed and power than it is agility so no big deal there... Coughlin knows how to fix fumbling issues... and he played for Texas which is a top school so the run defenses he faced couldn't have been all that bad. This next guy I'm looking at is intriguing. That is, I don't know that I'm sold yet, but I'm wondering if I might be onto something with him. His name is Jeremy McNichols. Now remember I haven't even read a peep about these RBs so I'm interested in hearing what you have to say. I'm just getting to know these guys for the first time by watching tape and making up my own impression. So here goes... At first I wasn't overly impressed but it just seemed like he racks up a lot of yardage. In another clip you couldn't even get much of a grasp for his running style because they were all close up shots of his legs moving. In this clip you can get a much better feel for him as a runner. What impressed me was the realization of who this guy is. Dude is MJD2.0. Watch him run and pretend he's MJD... He's totally another energizer bunny who can keep going and going... I don't see the Superman power and digging under piles that MJD had... but I see the incredible balance and the same style of running... more vertical, but natural and consistent. with no dancing .... just sheer production.,, he's got to have great vision to keep getting yards so naturally without being much of a cut-back or flashy back. ... https://youtu.be/XtyOHTVfJyA
