Therefor, Mallet would be worth a 2nd round pick if that is what the Patriots were asking for.

 

 

Heres the problem. 

 

It all isn't equal. 

 

Bortles is going to have a higher price tag than Mallett, even though that (I believe, anyway) Mallett is the better QB. 

 

Of those 3 QB, I'd rank them in terms of wish list: 

 

Bridgewater

Mallett

Bortles

 

yet in terms of cost

 

Bridgewater is going prob 1st overall

Bortles may go top 10-15

& Mallett if traded is likely to cost a 3rd rounder at most. 

 

So, me saying that I'd like Bortles in the 2nd round would be based off of the perceived value of him being taken 10-15 overall, thus us getting a major deal. 

 

If we can get Mallett, for a 3rd before the draft, obviously you then wouldn't be spending any high pick on Bortles. 

 

At that point I'd just hope we added someone like Murray or Mettenberger with a 3rd day pick as I told you I hope we ultimately bring in 2 QB, 1 being with a later pick.
