2017 Combine "Explosion Stat"/Fowler and Ngakoue "Explosion Stat"
|

This article is an interesting read. To sum it up, a guy's "Explosion Number" is his bench press + vertical jump + broad jump in feet. Anything above a 70 is considered explosive. It's mainly for DL and rush OLBS in a 3-4. Basically, if you're over 70 you're more likely to be elite, but obviously it has it flaws. Mainly though, when considering a first round selection college stud, if he's over a 70 or near it, it's been pretty wild how some of these guys have done. Ngakoue scored well with a 70.33, Fowler...60.83, not so much. Last year, Joey Bosa was a 66. Elites include Vic Beasley at ridiculous 86.86, J.J. Watt at 84, and a few others. SO...who scored well in this year's combine among people the Jags could take in round one? Myles Garret scored numero uno with some eye popping numbers. 33 reps + 41 vert + 10.66 broad jump = 84.66...Solomon Thomas- 30 reps + 35 vert + 10.5 broad jump = 75.5...Derek Barnett (incomplete) (didn't do reps) + 31 vert + 9.75 broad jump = 40.75. Potential second rounders= Taco Charlton 25 reps + 33 vert + 9.66 broad jump= 67.66 Carl Lawson 35 reps + 33 vert + 9.5 broad jump= 77.5 Charles Harris 21 reps + 32 vert + 9.08 broad jump= 62.08 Later round "gems"... Derek Rivers 30 + 35 vert + 10.25 broad jump = 75.25 here's a blurb http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/playe...rek-rivers Haason Reddick 24 reps 36.5vert+ 11.08 broad jump= 71.58 http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/haas...id=2557887 Anyway, that's all I gotta say. An interesting article and just wanted to post some guys that we could potentially take and how it corresponds to this. Ya'll feel free to ridicule me, discuss, ridicule some more, etc. etc....
BORTLES ISN'T A FRANCHISE QB. FOURNETTE WILL BE A BUST.
