Holmgren liked Hasselbeck while in GB. Holmgren traded for Hasselbeck once he got to Seattle.

 

That example doesn't really apply to potentially trading for Mallett. Holmgren coached Hasselbeck for 2 years and had a pretty good feel for him, Hasselbeck wasn't an unknown entity to Holmgren as Mallett would be to pretty much any team trading for him.
