So now you're not saying the recording of Flynn is evidence enough, like you did earlier today.  You've stepped back from that position and now you're saying, we can't see the evidence because it's a secret. 

 

Then give the evidence to the House or Senate Intelligence Committees.   They are privy to all this kind of national-security-related stuff.   They can see the evidence and just say, "We have seen the evidence and it appears Trump was right.  But we can't release the evidence due to national security implications."  

 

And yet, he won't show them the evidence either.   The Chairmen of those committees, Republicans, both say, they have seen no evidence.   They've asked for it, and asked for it, and asked for it, and still they get nothing. 

 

There's nothing to prevent Trump from showing the evidence to the ranking members of those committees.   But he won't.  Why not?  

 

There's only one possible reason.   The evidence doesn't exist.   They're desperately searching for any kind of evidence to back up their claim that they were surveilled.   Why do you think they tried to kick the whole thing to Congress to investigate?  Because they were hoping Congress would find something to get them off the hook. 

 

So now, the members of the relevant committees in Congress who would do the investigation say, where to we start?   Show us what you've got.  And they get nothing. 

 

He doesn't even show the evidence to his own spokes-people!  They all say they know nothing!  

 

The more he fights this, the worse it gets.  Anyone with a knowledge of history knows, it's never the original transgression that brings a public figure down, it's the cover-up.   The more you fight, the worse it gets. 

 

He needs to apologize and move on to his agenda. 

 

If I were you, I wouldn't waste my time defending this.  I would just say, "yes, he screwed up, now let's move on to some real issues like the budget, or immigration, or whatever."  Why do you throw yourself in with this guy?
