Looking around recent mock drafts I'm noticing Lamp going anywhere from #15 (Daniel Jermiah) to #29 where it appears there's little chance of the Packers passing on him. #23 and #26 are also distinct possibilities as the Giants and Seahawks can really use a guy like Forrest Lamp.

I agree the mid-20s are probably too far back for any team to trade up. The one time we saw a trade like that was when Caldwell was with the Falcons and he traded up for Julio Jones, but I don't see that kind of talent available at #4 to entice such a trade. So if we're to position ourselves to get Lamp, we'd want to trade up from #35. Even if the Lamp makes it past #29, he can go at any time and other teams might trade up. I've noticed a few mocks with him getting close by going to the Saints at #32, although I really don't see him making it all the way to #35, and I've only seen a couple mocks out of dozens with him doing as much. I've seen more with Cam Robinson falling to our second round pick.

So where to position ourselves. I'm seeing several recent mocks from nfl media with Lamp going to the Giants at #23. ...not as many as have him going to the Packers at #29. I'd say the best option would be to hedge your bets that he makes it into the 20s and then ensure you get him by trading with the Dolphins for the #22 spot. The other option would be to keep your fingers crossed that he gets to #28, and then making a move with the Cowboys. I don't like the idea of trying to get the #25 spot just in case the Seahawks take him at #26 because the #25 pick is the Texans and I hate trading within the division.

I'll check out the charts to see just what it would take to land either the #22 pick or the #28 pick...

To get the #28 pick we'd have to make up 110 points which equates to something like our #35 pick plus our 4th round pick and a 2018 4th round pick.
To get all the way up to the #22 spot, we'd have to make up 230 points. That would mean our #35 and our 3rd round pick with us getting a 5th round pick in return.

The latter option is a tough one because there should still be some really good players in the early 3rd round who won't be there a round later.
