I remember going to a Bartram Trail - St Augustine high school game when Nathan Peterman was the QB at Bartram.  We were just there to enjoy the game, didnt know who any of the players were.  I believe St Augustine killed them.  Anyways, fast forward a year and as I was going through the SEC recruits, I was pretty surprised to see his name listed at Tennessee.  I actually didnt know who he was but to double check, I googled the box score to verify if he played the game I watched.  And yep it was him.  Pretty surprised because at no point in that BT/St Aug game did I think I was looking at high level D1 starting QBs on either team.  I just assumed Tenn was filling out their roster.  So a few years later when I heard he transferred out of Tenn, I didnt think anything of it but wasnt surprised.  

 

So now fast forward a couple more years and I watched a few Pittsburgh games.  He was a solid player.  Seems like he makes good decisions.  Not a huge guy.  Not a huge arm.  Not overly athletic.  At no point when I watched those games did I think I was looking at a future NFL starter.  But now that I'm hearing he may go into the 2nd round of the draft, I'm stunned again!  This kid keeps defying my odds.

 

He looks to me like he could make a great backup with the potential to be a game manager in the right system.  But that's more like a 5th rounder in my eyes.  Not a 2nd.
