So they might have got an extra contributor out of it but it's also costing them a load of money that they could have used to lock up other free agents and restructure or extend current contracts.

If we are talking about a cash strapped team I'd buy into your argument but the Browns have more money than they were going to spend anyways this year...so the point kind of becomes moot.


Who would they need to resign this year that this trade no longer gives them the opportunity to?


As far as signing free agents, money didn't seem to be and issue as much as players not wanting to go there...like Tony Jefferson.
