FBGP's Building Through the NFL Draft: Jaguars

#12

Quote:How can you possibly not like Cook in the 2nd or Tankersley in the 3rd?
Cook has the negative...quadfecta? Bad athlete, bad injuries, bad character, bad fumbles. The better question is how could you like him in the 2nd. If we're willing to settle on someone with Cook's off field issues then Mixon would be the far better player and as many experts have said recently the front offices feel more comfortable with Mixon's character than Cook's.

If we were set on taking a corner in the third round he would be a slot corner that has a premium on lateral movement. Tankersley's 1% vertical (!), 31% 3 cone, and 15% shuttle suggests he would get abused by a quick slot guy. Someone like Witherspoon or Awuzie would fit better. They are both big like Tankersley to match up with a seam busting TE, but also have the premium athletic profile to match up better with a traditional slot WR.

ABOUT US
The Jungle Forums is the Jaguars' biggest fan message board. Talking about the Jags since 2006, the Jungle was the team-endorsed home of all things Jaguars.

Since 2017, the Jungle is now independent of the team but still run by the same crew. We are here to support and discuss all things Jaguars and all things Duval!
