Compilation of all of Fournette's runs out of the shotgun

Graham Barfield @GrahamBarfield
In the 2017 class, three RBs faced 8+ defenders in box on over half of their carries: Fournette (67%), McCaffrey (64%), McNichols (57%). <div>Graham Barfield @GrahamBarfield Yards Created per Attempt versus eight or more defenders in the box: McCaffrey - 5.86 Fournette - 5.48 McNichols - 4.15 <div>Graham Barfield @GrahamBarfield 7m7 minutes ago For reference, Dalvin Cook faced 8 or more defenders on 42% of his attempts and he created 3.82 yards/attempt on such carries. So the advantage Fournette was supposed to have, being able to run it even when the defense knows it's coming and is prepared for it, still falls on its face compared to McCaffrey. Essentially the same number of stacked boxes faced yet a whopping .4 yards more per carry... I think it could be convincingly argued that McCaffrey is > Fournette in every facet of the game. </div> </div> |
