For a long time now teams have been moving away from the bellcow 300 carry RB in favor of committee backfields with specializations. Fullbacks are going away and the only ones that are staying are the Jusczcyk, DiMarco, Reece types that are also very versatile with hback skills. You saw the dislike the team had for Julius and how they said they hated that it gave the play away when he was in the game. If you can't at least feign blocking it's a problem.

 

On defense the joker SS/LB/nickel corner types of players are in big demand and the smaller, lighter, and more versatile MLB is all the rage so teams can run these hybrid and base nickel defenses. 

 

I just don't think the modern NFL is going to treat a player who has to be stuck in a predictable under center 21 personnel type offense with raw blocking and passing skills very well.
