All other things being equal, Jacksonville doesn't pull the same kind of national or even regional interest that San Fran, Chicago or LA do. Those three are major markets. The league is protecting the shield by not scheduling a team in a prime time game that has routinely been blown out in them. Ratings matter. To the league's credit, they've given us more than our fair share of prime time games over the past 9 years given this team's performance. I guess they'll have no more of that. Time to earn it for next season or perhaps a late season flex, but that's highly unlikely even if we are doing well. |
