I've been a proponent of not picking up the 5th year option for a long time.  I think we're taking a QB at some point in this draft just to have someone waiting in the wings for next year or perhaps even to take Blake's place this year if he doesn't progress.  I don't think the person to eventually relieve Blake, if needed, is on the roster at the moment.  As I said before, if they were going to pick up his option they would have done so by now.
