Way too many people on here confuse "better than Gabbert" with "quality QB". Blake is better than Gabbert for sure, but he hasn't been a quality QB to date when looking at the whole picture. I don't think Blake has much more than 5th round value right now which means it would be foolish for us to not keep him and let him compete for the job this year with whatever rookie hopefully gets drafted in the first few rounds. What team is going to give up significant value based on what we've seen from him so far and also have to make the decision to extend his contract? You don't trade for someone so you can franchise them and you don't trade for the uncertainty that is Blake Bortles and then lock him up in a new contract either. No one is giving up a 3rd, let alone a 1st, for a 1 year evaluation of what has been a bad QB to date.
