In general, however, I don't think one bowl game should sway someone's opinion on a player either way. Haven't you spent time complaining that Gene Smith fell in love with Gabbert because of his bowl game?

 

 

The Jaguars would still be in far better position with picks 1 or 2, so no it wasn't a gross overreaction. 

 

 

 

And here's the thing....Manziels' one bowl game wasn't the anomaly. He's been playing that same clutch way forever. Its just now its getting to the point where the doubters (me once included)  can't deny Manziel's effectiveness anymore. 

 

If a player had an anomaly GAME (where that one game was so much better than the norm for that player) and then you change opinion on said player based on THAT ONE GAME, thats where you can get yourself in trouble.
