In 2015 he looked much different than last year...so I don't think that's the case.

 

He was bad last year, no one is arguing that, but if this past draft class we didn't like any of the QB's (which most said this is one of the weaker QB classes in a long time), why would you take a guy. Only argument one could make about getting legit competition is bringing in Kaepernick (which I think we should do). 

 

Not a fan of picking up the option, but if he sucks throught first 5-6 games take him out so you don't risk injury and plug in Allen (who is probably just as solid of prospect as guys like Peterman and Kayya in all reality, at least for the short term which is what people want as none of these three are likely long term starters) and see what he can do before taking a guy next year.

 

Bortles has never had a legit running game, he's always had to throw and throw and throw. Let's see how he does after an offseason of working on mechanics, something he last did prior to 2015 when he had a solid season.
