I believe in Blake, I really do.  The issue is.....  Too many things to fix and no time.   In most franchise qbs.   The running game can bail a qb out.  However according to Bortles statistics.  Stronger running games lead to fewer wins.  Why is that?  No idea. Just what stats have shown so far. 

 

Our oline while far from top notch.  Under marrone each year have decreased in number of hurries and sacks.  And yet the win have not.  Now adding a guy who can take the top off in West Brook could help Blake.... If....  Can throw the ball accurately deep or in the general range of West Brook.  Which sometimes hes golden the others not so much. 

 

I believe West Brooks vision and speed could help Bortles in this area.  Now fournette,   Which was not my choice in rbs.  Can be a monster.  But to expect him to carry the team in the NFL.  Is an unfair assumption to him. 

 

The Nfl is a much stronger and faster game.  And until see anything better then Ivory he is just a younger version of Ivory.  And anyone who says otherwise is down grading Ivory based on Jax performance.   And forgets on the jets.  He won the Rushing tittle.  So no fournette is yet in his league.

 

Regardless of production in Jax.   

 

But yes Fournette was brought in to make tds and if he doesn't.  And in bunches does not help Bortles.  

 

AR15 in order to be productive needs to get his head on right.  Otherwise could be passed by Lee or Possibly West Brook.  And Hurns needs to make a comeback.  Or was a huge mistake given him that contract extension.  

 

West brook would of not been drafted.  If Hurns and AR15 were the same as 2015 in 2016.  They were not. 

 

So in essence it all comes down to Bortles and can he get that fire to be a great qb with all the new pieces in place.  And contrary to belief the line will be better cause more guys brought in on oline that our hungry for that chance.  From low end fa to un drafted.  

 

I personally don't think Bortles will over ride the stacked odds against him.  And partially it is not his fault.  Because far as I know no real competition brought in.  To step his game up.  Even a poor mans Blake would make Blake rise to the challenge.  But we dont have that on the roster. 

 

I know alot of people give Cutler slack.  But he has won key games.  Blake hasn't.  Same with the Guy who was on the jets.  

 

But this is sink or swim year with Bortles.  And unless he wins 7 to 8 games.  I don't see him our qb in 2018. 

 

And While in Fantasy love it if Blake bounces back and ends up our franchise qb.   The reality way too much to fix and so little time.  I don't see it happening.  Unless which is possible.  The team deliberately tanked for gus to be gone.   Which appeared to be that way in first tacks game.   But these are grown men and earn bonuses.  And no one I know of in any business.  Will risk their bonuses to make a statement.  Have real familys to feed.  And I don't see the nfl as any thing different.

I respectfully disagree with your premise; Blake doesn't need to play like the team is down 30-0. He needs to relax and realize that the responsibility to score doesn't fall all on him. This, I believe, is exactly why the Jags why drafted a RB with their first pick. I'll happily live with Blake throwing fewer TDs if Fournette can pick up the slack.
