Something like 70% of the vote was early and prior to the assault. He ended up winning by 8 points when trump carried it by 60. It was closer then trumps victory likely due to the remaining vote happening after the assault. He did not win because  the liberal message was bad. He won because he ran as a R in a deep red state who will always vote R despite a person ignoring facts, such as the average age of human life over our history or the age of the planet for that matter. They do this because the GOP has spent decades convincing the rabble that liberals are their enemy. Not fellow countrymen but outright enemies. If you think it's anything else than you are just as much of a rube as they are.
