Quote:Friend brought me a bottle of Crown that was bottled in 1982. Compared to what they are putting in the bottles today it is some kind of delicious. I guess all those years makes it so smooth? Sipped it on some ice cubes until a nice glow was achieved. Oh yeah. While not every bottle of whiskey will age well, even the blended ones will usually improve over time and they certainly may have been bottling a better product at that time to begin with. I'm home from California, but I brought my tequila habit back to the east coast. Nothing fancy. Hornitos Reposado. I made a new (to me anyway) cocktail with it last night. 2 oz. of tequila, 3 oz. Shweppes bitter lemon, 2 oz Pomegranate/Blood Orange Nectar (muddled fresh mint optional) Serve over ice, or shake vigorously with ice and fresh mint then serve "up" in a chilled martini or margarita glass. |
