Can you help? Is Mr Khan a good owner

#6

OK. So much is wrong with the OP, so let's address that. Fulham was never really world beaters. In the 5 years prior to Kahn they finished mid-table at 7th, 12th, 8th, 9th, and 12th. In the year prior to relegation, they were only 7 points above the drop off point, so it's not like they were well above relegation prior to Kahn.

As far as selling 30 players, it is part of relegation. Their is a Fair Play Policy in which relegated teams are forced to sell off players so that their budget is comparable to the other teams in the league, so as to not have a dramatic edge. Also, some players will force their own way out because they refuse to play in lower leagues. The OP gives the wrong image that Khan was doing some sort of massive roster overhaul like we have seen in an effort to completely rebuild a terrible roster his way. No, Fulham had a terrible roster and Khan was forced to sell players to comply with league rules. So, he had to make an already bad roster worse in an effort to avoid harsh penalties that can cripple a team.

As far as being relegated again. That is also pretty common. In a pretty recent year, Wolverhampton was relegated in back to back years, and then found their way back back up to the Championship and is within striking distance to have a chance to be promoted to the Premier League pending if they make and how they do in the playoffs. Here is a good article on how teams that have been relegated fare the next year: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/footbal...nship.html. As you can see, relegated teams commonly finish in the bottom half of the table and are even more commonly just above the drop zone again as Fulham will be this year.

Soccer is set up in a way that makes it much harder for a team to turn around than our football.
