  When Doug Marrone did leave the Bills a couple of years ago,  I was critical of his decision.   Looking at what transpired two years later,  admittedly I was wrong to be critical of Marrone.   From his discussions with Bills ownership and observing them,  he probably saw problems that made him believe that it was better to move on.  Granted,  Marrone probably thought he would get another NFL HC that winter.   The Jets at one point seemed very interested in him  ( and might be again this winter ).   But something ( s ) must have greatly concerned Marrone about the Bills organization.   iMO,  hiring Rex Ryan and then firing him before the end of his 2nd season with them vindicates Marrone.

 

  Being that Marrone hired Jim Schwartz to run his Defense is something that he deserves plenty of credit for.

 

  Also,  to Marrone's credit,  he didn't like what he saw from EJ Manuel and benched him in favor of journeyman Kyle Orton.  A 9 win season under that circumstance is something I view as a successful season.   That much more considering it was the Bills only winning season in the last 12 seasons.
