This guy, Mike Basile of Monmouth, looks like he knows how to play safety, but his size????
https://youtu.be/apCR-d6_d90 If he can play a whole game the way he plays on that first play...awesome. Great instincts; identifies the ball quickly and reacts; tackles with authority. The type of character who tells his linebacker pals, "if you aren't gonna tackle the running back, would you mind stepping aside and let me handle it." 1:56 Look at how he takes on the lead blocker and uses him to make the play on the ball carrier. There is nothing wrong with using a late pick on him. He figures to be a special teams ace. Every team has at least on ace on special teams. Then you go from there, I guess. Top notch character. Several You Tube video interview shine a bright light on his intelligence, wit, and personality. It does not look like he is the type of player who will underachieve. |
