Just the nature of the market and how salary caps in general are changing across all sports. What was that massive MLB contract that just got signed? It was close to $300M was it not? A lot of these guys may or may not actually see all that money too. A lot of that is just about making it look good on paper and the title with it.

As Bullseye pointed out. There's plenty of other QB's in the NFL with far, far less accomplishments on their resume's and they've made far, far more money than Wilson has. Wilson has pretty much been the entire offense for the Seahawks now over the last two years. That defense fell apart due to age, injuries and departures but Wilson held up his end of the bargain IMHO.

I think he'll continue to carry that team to the best of his abilities. But it's up to Seattle's GM and coaching staff to rebuild around him now while he's still in his prime. 30 years old is young for a QB in today's age. They could potentially win another title with him over the next four years if they get it done in the draft.
