Pretty much this.  This has been our defensively philosophy dating back since Coughlin was fired.  It's just that we had so much talent on defense in JDR's early years that the players could play above the X's and O's.

 

Almost every catch was uncontested today.  We just had to hope that the Patriots receivers would drop the ball 3 times in a row with nobody within 4 or 5 yards - on all 9 of the Patriots possessions.
