Ace Sanders

This is an awful argument. Doss is about to get cut.

But wait, TMD is smarter than Caldwell.  Doesn't Caldwell know that Doss led the league in average punt returns when over 20 attempts?  What an idiot!

I can't wait until cuts.

Doss is taking up Stephen Morris' jersey #. It infuriates me greatly.

I'm almost embarrassed for the dog whimperer on this one because he's really trying to dig deep on stats that allow him to somehow spin Doss out as some elite prospect.  He's Garrarding him fixating on one stat, while ignoring all of the stats showing that Sanders is actually the more productive player.  All for what?  An agenda?  Pathetic.

I think bringing in Doss was a great idea by Caldwell when he found out Ace was to be suspended. While I don't see as much upside in Doss as a certain poster, it made sense to have a guy on the roster that could be an above average punt returner. It's a shame that we didn't get to see them really duke it out for the job, but the Jags should be fine with Ace back there.

What happens for the first four weeks is anyone's guess, however.

No matter what, it probably won't involve Doss thanks to that high ankle sprain.

Yeah. I smell an injury settlement coming down the pike.

Unless they feel there's some potential there, at which point they could always put him on the designated to return IR.

I guess we will see shortly.

Just watching the replay again. It's interesting that TMD talks about all the space Sanders had on that decent return he had. The clip shows that he not only took advantage of the cushion to generate a good return, but he generated more yards a AFTER first contact with one of the defenders.

In Doss' punt return, a 19 yard cushion hauling in the punt at the 15 1/2 yard line with the closest defender being at the 35. His return? Zero yards. The only positive on that return was an unsportsmanlike flag on Atlanta.

Doss almost certainly was still feeling the effects of his ankle issues.

He's already proven himself to be an elite PR over the course of a season.

Like Marcedes Lewis proved himself to be an elite TE over the course of a season?

Selective reasoning.

Yes, I'm sure the zero he hung there was all about his ankle, especially with basically a 20 yard cushion. Interesting how there's an excuse for the guy you're plugging, but you dismiss a good return by Sanders.

Smells like agenda whoring to me.

Doss is getting paid proportionately for the skill he does best. (returns).

Marcedes is and has been disproportionately paid based on the one season in which really the only "elite" aspect of it for his position was the TD total.

Poor comparison.

Didn't matter to you with the elite QB, David Garrard.

What makes you so confident based on an outlier year?

Second Doss return: 12 yard cushion. 5 yard return. Elite.

None of this matters anymore, people.  The Texans just traded for Ryan Mallett (reportedly, again) so the rest of the AFC South is doomed.

Doomed, I tell you.

Just as I was getting excited for Bortles, Mallet has to ruin the fun.
