I love that Caldwell is picking players expected to go higher in lower rounds unlike Gene Smith who over drafted players 

Gene picks we were late WHO? we could get him later, Caldwell picks we are like dang he couldve went higher 

 

What's more... is that these are "their guys."  They seem to be hauling in the guys they've targeted and wanted to get.  They aren't just choosing the next guy from who's left.

And I really like the Colvin pick because we still have Blackmon, Ball, and McCray fighting for the other spot. And both Harris'. Colvin said he may play later this year, but it also isn't a bad thing if a player sits and watches everything going on. In some cases, it's even better.

The Cowboys just took a guy who was projected FA, not even 7-FA. Each team has a different board and usually the experts don't have a clue once it comes to the later rounds.

I understand that, but he said Caldwell is taking guys projected higher than where we are getting them?  Show me a CURRENT projection any where with Linder ranked higher than #93 and Colvin ranked higher than #114.

The point is, that teams avoided him due to injury.

 

I didn't like the Linder pick, but I like the Colvin pick.  He's a guy who is a 2nd round talent, picked in the 4th.

Mayocks rankings that take into account the guys injury.

Right.... that's why it is questionable.  No guarantee he will fully recover from the injury, and it's not like CB was a need.  We have plenty of other positions where we NEED healthy bodies for depth or even starters.

Many of us called the Linder pick a reach predicated by a run on the position group actually.

 

The Colvin  thing is clearly a case of his stock falling due to injury and Caldwell willing to wait it out. Certainly worth questioning.
