Tyson Campbell - Rd2, Pick 33

(05-01-2021, 10:16 AM)flgatorsandjags Wrote: I hate this pick the most, not because I don't think Campbell is good but because they passed on Barmore Elijah Moore.  With that said as long as CJ doesn't quit football, we are loaded at CB which is a great thing to have.

Still hate this pick the most.  Hopefully he can figure it out and prove me wrong.

The Elijah Moore era begins. Just to think we could have Moore and Etienne next year really hurts my feelings. Lawrence to Moore could of been a problem for the NFL for the next 10+ years. [BLEEP] you Balke and [BLEEP] you Meyer

We could've had Asante Samuel, Jr. and Elijah Moore and simply not wasted our pick on ETN. Or Newsome, Stokes, Barmore, Freiermuth, Dickerson, or any other of a number of players more valuable than a running back.

But we're led by an inexperienced used car salesman and his hoarse-voiced yes man.

On record here for liking an early CB pick

It was obvious need and i liked some reports i read on the player

Thought he could learn the whole "look for the ball" thing

Looking each week more and more like i was wrong

Just have to hope he improves. This team needs Campbell to be a good player

No one. The incessant complaining over players who haven't even started a down yet for inane reasons is downright idiotic

This take continues to age like fine milk.

Your feelings are hurt?

I really hope Campbell improves. It’s not unheard of for players to take a year to really get going and then turn out to be great. However, I’ve yet to see anything so far which makes me think that will be the case for him. I’m pretty sure any free agent
Corner we could’ve signed off of waivers would playAt least at the level we are seeing him play so far.

I made it late to the game, it was already 28-10 by the time I tuned in. Did Moore do most of his work before or after garbage time? I saw a late TD, but the stat sheet showed 2 for the night, I genuinely couldn't bring myself to watch that [bleep]-show.

What if Lawrence to Agnew is just as electric, and has similar longevity?

I didn't think WR was the biggest need, but a need.  I just thought Moore was the best player and will be one of the best WRs in this league if he stays healthy and a QB that can get him the ball. I was really high on Samuel though and would of been happy with him

But we wasted a pick on ETN because we needed "playmakers", so now we're stuck without playmakers.

We know, you have already admitted multiple times you have never seen Etienne play

Just attack the ball! Jump. Hands up like if the police have guns drawn. Knock the ball down!

Ah yes. Why didn't any of these coaches think of that?! Brilliant idea!

I haven't yet given up on Campbell. Cornerback isn't the easiest position to play for a rookie. However, he needs to show much improvement between now and next season.

I've seen every Clemson game for the last 8 or so years and ETN is a scat back who played in a wide open college offense. In the NFL he's a gadget player for a team that doesn't know how to use a running back or gimmick player as shown by how they use LS10. And today ENT's a big fat nothing in the NFL who might not ever be anything at all, so perhaps it's you who seems to repeatedly admit that you know very little about this game. Maybe you should get back to calling for Mullen's head and leave pro ball to the adults.

I hope he can learn how to look for the ball, but usually that's more instinct than rational thought.

If it was easy, Moncrief wouldn't have sucked at every stop.  I hope he does, but I'm not feeling particularly hopeful that Campbell will learn to play the deep ball just by practicing.  Not unless his practice includes about 100+ deep routes from the jugs machine every week. Even then...
