Would you take Addison out of USC over a CB?

Addison and Ridley are a lot a like. Elite route runners who create separation with ease. Addison has a chance to be like Diggs I think.

Depending on who else is there in round 1 when the Jags pick, I could definitely see myself adding him and just saying eff it. We are going to destroy man coverage for 10+ years.

...and be unable to cover anyone ourselves, because we don't have the CBs to do it.

I like Ridley, Kirk and Zay  - I'd keep Agnew in the mix and draft a mid round receiver if value presents itself.

I totally agree with all that.  WR is the least of our needs.  And as for the people who say "CB2" I would say, "CB1."  We could really use a dominant #1 CB.

Do you not see that Campbell is a dominant CB? 

His completion percentage allowed is among the elite CBs in the league. Better than Slay, better than Surtain, better than Jaire Alexander, better than Sauce Gardner, better than damn near every corner out there. 

Patrick Mahomes only threw the ball at him twice in the whole game vs KC and ended up with one completion for 6 yards. 

There is a HIGH likelihood that  - if the Jags pick a CB in the first round - he won't be better than Tyson Campbell. 

Not sure how this isn't more apparent. 
Is it because he doesn't have lots of INTs? 
Is it because he's had 4 plays this season where he didn't play the ball in the air and allowed a big play? 

I don't get it. His performance at his position is elite this season.

2 good corners still can't cover Waddle/Hill, Higgins/Chase, Metcalf/Lockett, Keenan/BigMike, Evans/Godwin.

It's an offensive league and you can never have too many weapons or too much speed. I want defenses to go into Tuesdays meeting being like "Ok, how do we stop this offense because they have everything." 

Again. I'm not reaching for a WR just to take one. But I would make the offense the focal point of the off season after spending an embarassing amount of money and draft picks on the defense.

Semantics, but yes, I agree they should get the best they can get and let the depth chart sort itself out in camp. 
That's how it works anyway. Regardless of what we call it.

Those are also the three areas I believe that are in most need of a talent upgrade.

The only difference is that I would place DT at the top of the list because I believe that a really good DT could have a domino effect in increasing the effectiveness of the defense overall.

One of the main reasons I believe we are able to get a good amount of pressure but are unable to actually get to the QB is due to lack of interior push. So often it seems that when our outside pressure closes in on the QB, he has a clean pocket to step up into to avoid them which also allows him the extra time to find the open receiver.

If we can find a player that can do that, I think our edge rushers will start getting to the QB a lot more often and reduce the time the secondary needs to stay in coverage.

As far as CB we are going to need to find 2. Although I think a top end DT will be able to improve the effectiveness of the pass rush, there will still be times when we are unable to get pressure and I think the players we have to put in at nickle and CB2 are back up caliber and we need to improve on that.

With the OLine, currently Fortner doesn't appear to have the strength and it's uncertain if he can develop the strength needed to be a starting C in the NFL. You also have consider whether or not Bartch will come back from injury in full form. Even if we knew that Fortner and Bartch would be able to play as quality starters, we still would be lacking quality depth and as often as people on the OL get banged up, that could present a major issue if we fail to address the depth.

As far as WR, I have very little concern about Ridley. He may have had a few years off, but he is healthy and a veteran player. From what I've heard, Ridley has been keeping himself in shape and not letting himself go to waste partying all the time like some of our former suspended WRs, so I have little doubt that with a full off season to get prepared that he will be able to step in right where he left off. That said, I would have no problem drafting a guy in the later rounds that might be a diamond in the rough, but we have far to many positions with lesser talent to justify using a high pick on a WR.

The Lines, I will let you choose which position. OL or DL I don't care, just keep working on the lines. They make everything better. I'd be happy with a good to great starter at either DL or RT.

For me not but it depends how highly I rate the corner I'm passing on.
You can't take a corner just to take one especially in round 1.
However RB and LB are nonpremium positions anyway so they would have to be truly generational to consider in the top 10 IMO.

I think what he means is just don't take a WR with our first pick because it's our biggest need, or whatever they feel our biggest need is.  Take the top player regardless of position.  The good thing is there isn't any LB or RB that will be BPA when we pick so we won't have to worry about that.  If there is a highly rated QB trade back.

Yep, and most of those teams don't get the contribution from the guy they drafted out of need that they could have gotten from taking the elite player instead.

It's incredible how bad people can be at that job and still get paid millions a year.
