***Officially official Roster Cuts***

Quote:Meh, not me. Leshoure has been very unimpressive so far in his career.

Not sure he's an upgrade from Todman.

What is up with this Todman love, the dude had one good game last year and sucked all preseason, but now people are saying they would take him over proven guys come on now

Leshoure had 798 yards and 9 tds, with 34 catches, 2 years ago, but was hurt last year

They both are 24, like I said if Todman never played for the Jaguars most people would see him as a camp body

I still think Benjarvus Green-Ellis is an upgrade. He was let go primarily for cap reasons but he's got some game left in him. He's only 29 going into year seven.

In addition to Benjarvus and  Mikel Leshoure who abused the Jaguars backup defense, the following RBs have been released...

  • Falcons Josh Vaughan

  • Bears Jordan Lynch

  • Dolphins Daniel Thomas

  • Jets Daryl Richardson and Alex Green

  • Eagles Henry Josey

  • Bucs Jeff Demps

Josey is a rookie but he's averaged 6.6 ypc this Preseason. Richardson turned a few heads with the Rams last year earning himself three starts.

29 year old RBs are usually not good investments. I think I'll pass as well.

I'm completely indifferent, but nobody is looking at a player like BGE as an investment.  He's a backup running back, not a future starter.  Todman isn't a future starter either.  If he's better than Todman, then bring him in.  If not, then don't.  I feel BGE might be very slightly better, but not significantly.

What teams would usually do in cases like these would be to go with the younger guy who still has potential to get better vs the guy on the down side of his career who may only be marginally better. Also it helps Todman's case that he can play special teams as well.

Kapri Bibbs was released by the Broncos. Very, very talented young back from Colorado State.

Henry Josey has played very well for the Eagles this preseason. He might be a worthy claim. The only thing is the Eagles OL is so good its hard for RB to not look good for them. But still, he might be legit.

Yea if your signing them to a long term deal to be your feature back, we just need a backup to go with D-Rob, while Storm develops

I really liked Josey out of Missouri. Would prefer him over Todman, but not sure they'd want that much inexperience behind Gerhart. Plus injury prone.

How good in pass pro is Todman?

This ^ is why we don't need to worry about upgrading Todman.  Todman's role will be minor.

Well, yeah.  However in this case its pretty much dead even considering I doubt Todman will be on our 53 by this time next season.  This would be the case if we had just drafted Todman this year or last year.

Eric Winston RT for the Seahawks was released. Some thought he would be their starter.

That might be an interesting possibility. He's a fit for the scheme here, IIRC.

I doubt it. He was a street FA up until about a month ago.
