I know it's a long shot but I'm hoping Trent joins Hamas and heads to Gaza to fight the IDF.   Perhaps we can pitch in for a hotel for Trent in New Orleans for Mardi Gras.

Jesus, dude.

Wont work. Trent brings his own barricades.

I'd typically give the owner the benefit of the doubt in this case but Shad has a history of poor decision making with this franchise. He's smitten with Baalke for some reason we can't understand so he's going to be here for awhile. Jags have the worst record in the NFL since he took over and it's not particularly close. I hope something changes in the near future but it doesn't seem like it will.

By the way, I don't think Baalke is a horrible personnel guy, he may not be great but he doesn't utterly suck. His worst trait is he doesn't seem to know how to get, retain and work with a coaching staff.
I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.

Not a bit ESPN fan, but dude just laid out the truth.

Bad culture.  Bad GM.  Bad Coaching hires.  Bad franchise.

Agree on all points. Khan is VERY bad at picking personnel. But there are worse GM's in the league as far as amassing talent goes.

Shad Khan is the best kind of owner we could have. His problem is that he has picked the wrong people to run the team. But aside from that, he stays out of football decisions and gives his GM and HC all the financial resources they need to do what they want to do. Look at all the money he has spent on players in the last few years. He's no cheapskate. And he's loyal to the city.

If he can just pick the right person or persons to run the team, we would all have to admit he's the best possible owner.

I agree with this take.

I'd love it if he were more football savvy, but then you run the risk of him inserting himself into decisions beyond Executive and HC hires. Which we definitely do not want. The odds of that panning out positively are horribly against us.

We just have to hope that he, Trent, Waugh, and the other guys they've undoubtedly assembled for their search committee can come up with a HC hire that not only rights the ship this time, but keeps it steering toward postseason wins for multiple seasons.

That's pretty much what I think as well.  As I pointed out before, a glaring example of an owner that micro-manages a football team is in Dallas, and that hasn't worked for them at all.

Our GM hasn't been horrible, but also is not a "can't miss" kind of guy either.

It all comes down to the HC hire and who he decides to bring in for coordinators and assistant coaches.

There are 10 kinds of people in this world.  Those who understand binary and those who don't.
