Drifter's big gun topic

Quote:I did some very superficial Google research, so take the following for what it's worth, but 2 factors that seem to increase violent crime numbers among any demographic group statistics and overwhelm all others are poverty and stable home/family situations. That is almost so obvious it may be overlooked at times. That was what I was inclined to believe. Hispanics and Asians tend to break that stereotype though, as it applies here. Maybe I'm casting way too broad a net over a school of fish. I've been known to do that.....

If something can corrupt you, you're corrupted already.
- Bob Marley ![]() Quote:Maybe stable family situations include generations of criminals?Maybe, but there are generations of moonshiners out there. They're technically criminals, but honestly, who do they hurt, other than the IRS? A lot of things that were once thought criminal are now commonplace. Either we are getting better with law as people, or criminals are evolving. I think it's something other than that. The general premise of violation of another has remained consistent over the years, despite the evolution of law.

Poverty and a lack of responsible males in the home and/or good male role models I think are the leading factors regardless of race. Unfortunately, those two things are most prevalent in the worst parts of town.

Quote:Poverty and a lack of responsible males in the home and/or good male role models I think are the leading factors regardless of race. Unfortunately, those two things are most prevalent in the worst parts of town. The second is the root cause of the first. 4 things to do to stay out of poverty: Get a job. Don't commit crime. Get married. Don't have kids until you've done 1 and 3. But government subsidy creates more of what it subsidizes so we end up with fewer people working, fewer marriages, and more bastard children running the streets leading to more crime. All because men gave their natural responsibilities to the state. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

You'd think some would learn the lesson, don't wanna get shot, don't go robbing people at gun point. Merica!

He was given the chance to drop his weapon but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, had to point it at the good samaritan with a gun of his own.

One less threat to society running the streets tonight. Seems like a good start to me.

So its not the robbers fault he got shot?
He was just trying to pull off making a little money.....WITH A GUN. Sorry, no sympathy here. Parents that produce losers like this should pay his hospital and prison bills.
