@GovRonDeSantis
For years, Florida has been trying to return federal funds to the federal government due to the ideological strings attached by the Biden Administration—but they couldn't even figure out how to accept it. Today, I met with @elonmusk
and the DOGE team, and we got this done in the same day. Other states should follow Florida in supporting DOGE's efforts!

Florida returned $878,112,000.

Here's the story on that.....

DeSantis says Florida returned $878M in taxpayer funds to federal government after meeting with Musk, DOGE

DeSantis said Florida had been trying to return federal funds to the federal government over the 'ideological strings attached by the Biden Administration'

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, a Republican, said Friday that the state was returning more than $878 million to the federal government that it had been attempting to give back for the past few years during the Biden administration.
DeSantis' office informed the U.S. Treasury Department that $878,112,000 would be returned to the federal government.
The governor said the move came after a meeting with billionaire Elon Musk and his team at the newly formed Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE.

"For years, Florida has been trying to return federal funds to the federal government due to the ideological strings attached by the Biden Administration—but they couldn't even figure out how to accept it," DeSantis wrote Friday on X.

What a useless article! What was the money supposed to be for? What were the "ideological strings"? Lol.

DOGE USAID budget cuts hit UN in 'worst liquidity crisis since its establishment'
Elon Musk's DOGE cuts to USAID hitting United Nations' bottom line

President Donald Trump's administration’s use of Elon Musk's DOGE to cut USAID spending is having a deep impact on the United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS), according to internal U.N. emails shared with Fox News Digital.

In an email sent early Friday morning, president of the U.N. Field Staff Union, Milan Victor Dawoh wrote that the USAID funding cut resulted in "approximately $30 million" having been "removed from the extra-budgetary (XB) resources, resulting in a significant reduction in staffing."

Dawoh’s email warns that the U.N. "is currently experiencing its worst liquidity crisis since its establishment. The situation is expected to deteriorate further before any improvement occurs."

It’s not so much the audit, it’s who is conducting the audit.

I disagree.  Mikesez could conduct the audit and there would protest in the streets angst in DC.  I get the politicians wringing their hands as they are the ones receiving the kickbacks but the common blue blood democrats I don’t get. I wish we had one here that could explain it.

Biscuit's right, it's ALL about who is conducting the audit and whose initiative the audit is.  I have several friends who are Democrats.  They're outspoken in their disapproval but can't articulate any reasonable basis for their objections.   It's classic TDS.

There are protests because people were fired without cause.

The audits (so far) are fake, and even the people who think they're real aren't emotionally invested in it.  No one is protesting audits.

They're only mad because people they love are missing paychecks.

Judges seem to disagree about that! Also, it seems OPM is not allowed to fire anyone. Only the department head is allowed to fire a department's employees.

As for proof that the audits are fake, you're the one posting that all the time. An audit is a complicated process. The results of a real audit don't fit into a neat little tweet.

So bottom line that has not been decided. Second, you have no idea what an audit is, no proof what is being done and if they are fake or not. Most are summaries/titles of contracts that have or are in process of being cancelled. Your talking out your hind end right now.

Contracts are contracts.
Typically, neither side is able to walk away from a contract with no consequences.
The other side is going to sue in a lot of these cases, the government is going to spend money responding to those lawsuits, and the government are going to lose some of them.
So it is questionable how much money is actually being saved, if any.

But by that time you'll be distracted by the next shiny object, I'm sure.

interesting opinion. Ever had a government contract?  Most all have the "termination for convenience" clause. While it is possible to recoup for work already done and maybe supplies it is almost impossible to over ride this. Also next year these contract will not be renewed You have to prove the government is acting in bad faith. Been there tried that it is almost impossible. We will see....

Your article is agreeing with me that there will be expensive lawsuits over this. Did you read your article?
Regardless, is that actually saving the taxpayer money?
Doesn't an experienced contractor factor the risk of not getting paid into the price they offer?
Did that risk go up or down over the last few months?

I read the article did you?  First now that canceled next year is a 100% savings. The most anyone will get this year is for work done and if they can prove the government acted in bad faith they will get the profit for the contract. The success rate will be very low and it will take years. So have at it. You ever have  a government contract or are you just blowing smoke? You sound like someone talking out of their element.

Bottom line you were wrong. The contracts will be/have been cancelled and there will be massive savings. As for the other questions they are kind of crappy questions to deflect. LOL Nice try, but you never answered my question. Why?
