I've never heard a single person say we should return to work camps and company scrip.

If you want to take away government that's what you're asking for, a return to the national circumstances that led to the election of the Roosevelts.

Quote:Which has nothing to do with the problems of the "consumption based" tax idea.

Strangely enough it seems that while most people might claim to support anti-trust laws in practice what they seem to support in elections is usually big business focused candidates.

Think about the bizarre things candidates claim, "I'm an outsider who has never been to Washington and spent my life in business!"

Is there anyone on the Democrat or Republican side that isn't big business.  It's almost impossible to get elected unless you sell yourself to big business for the millions required to buy the vote.

The only difference is, which big business side do you support?

The country was fine prior to the 20th century, contrary to your belief.

Quite right.

If you want domestic business and small businesses that pay taxes you vote Democratic party. If you like outsourcing and tax dodging you get to vote Republican.

I'm sure the black slaves, the Chinese immigrants, and the native Americans would agree.

If you want 700 million dollars of tax payer money wasted in failed investment after failed investment while the CEOs and politicians behind it get rich, then vote Democrat.

and nobody here talks about actually getting the money out of politics. Probably because it's not part of any part's agenda.

Funny, they were all freed and the United States was making progress towards equality.  You know, prior to Teddy taking office...

Also funny how on a platform that's based on personal liberty, you bring this up.

Don't forget the kids working (and dying) in factories, the women who couldn't vote or the Radium Girls.

Quite correct, thank you for adding those notes.

The idea that it would be good to go back to a time when we used a currency backed by precious metals and people were routinely killed during their job by their employers for daring to try to unionize is absurd.

All 01 is doing is showing either how unaware of history he is, or how callous he is with how much empathy he lacks.

Again, because the Libertarian platform is built on civil rights abuses and oppression.

Hey, I don't want the government coming around telling me I can't dump my toxic waste into the river upstream of you.

I own that land, if you don't like it you should just drink bottled water.

Got it, Libertarian Party supports oppression, civil rights abuses, and corporate murder.

True, remember the bailout were bipartisan efforts. The 2008 bailout was drafted by Paulson ®, supported by Bush ® as well as both McCain and Obama. First house vote failed with Dems in favor, Reps against. After that only the House Reps opposed but not enough to stop approval.

If it's not what you want then why is it the platform you support?

If you want big government watching the things you care about then why shouldn't everyone else have big government watching over the things they care about?

Because only under your delusional, indoctrinated mind does the Libertarian Party support all of those things which are the complete opposite of every Libertarian principle.

Somehow those atrocities were going on across the entire planet in every different system of government.  It was the times.

Apparently to people who hate freedom, it was only going on in America - because we were too free.
