Ok, challenge accepted.

 

I showed this thread to my wife, along with several other JW-heavy threads from the recent past. My wife has a Master's in Psychology and is currently a PhD candidate, and spent much of her time as an undergrad working in a lab that dealt with autistic children. Her immediate reaction was that JW seemed to be "trying too hard", her words, not mine, and that the symptoms JW kept pointing to were inconsistent with her attitude and mannerisms in the past. Asperger's, my wife reasoned, is something that causes you to not understand those around you, not something that causes you to post "***OFFICIAL***" threads about topics that are already being discussed ad nauseum elsewhere, then complain loudly when the lack of any reason for your thread to exist is pointed out. She even questioned whether someone with Asperger's would be comfortable participating in a message board to the extent and nature that JW does, especially considering the beating she takes from other posters here.

 

If my wife who, unlike all of you, is actually well on her way to becoming a clinical psychologist is wrong, I'll gleefully eat my words publicly along with Achilles. Thing is, when I question whether someone is actually suffering from AS or just playing for the lulz, I'm going to trust what my wife says over what a poster that I've suspected for a couple years now of trolling has to say in her defense.

I've spent time with them in person, and online in a group setting. They are so much like her I knew she had it before she admitted it here.

He is referring to me. An administrator can't be a troll.

 

One problem here is people are too lazy to Google "Asperger's syndrome" or "autism spectrum disorders" to learn about the condition from real experts and reliable websites. How many board members have visited the NINDS website or WebMD to read about it? How many have read Wikipedia's AS page? Apparently nobody, judging from the responses I am getting in this thread.

To what end, though? One can easily troll a message board without feigning a mental illness, so why bother? For sympathy? She certainly hasn't garnered much of that here. Maybe a pass from moderation?

If I remember correctly, a long time passed from her joining the board, to her mentioning having AS. Wouldn't a troll intent on using AS as a shield let that be known early on?

4. i have offered to purchase her and her mother tickets to two gators games probably 5 times now.

on top of the other inconsistencies that have been pointed out by myself and others, i am led to believe she is lying.

 

if someone would go to the level of lying about having aspergers on a football forum, do you really think that i would be able to speculate a rational reason on why they would do that?

Nobody is qualified to claim I do not have AS or call me a liar because none of the people who do know me personally. If you were to meet me at a Gators game, I guarantee you would notice immediately I am telling the truth about having AS.

Seemingly, you think that JW is some diabolical, cunning internet troll, free of any mental issues, who thrives on giving grief to the fine members of this message board. To further this cause, this internet master feigns an illness. Now if this were true, I guarantee there is a rational behind it.


There is one other option. She could really have AS. Without any plausible rational to the former option, which seems more likely?

It is even sadder that some people choose to believe a 38-year old woman is lying about having a disability on the autism spectrum without doing any research on the subject or personally knowing her in real life.

So all of a sudden, well educated people in the world of psychology/special ed with advanced degrees are suddenly irrelevant when it comes to the discussion of autism? and yet everyone trying to defend JW has no experience in either the medical/psychology fields to begin with. At least, as far as I know.

 

 

I don't know if this is due to denial or just not wanting to accept the truth, but all of us have been played like a fiddle by JW this whole time. And some people just don't want to accept it. We truly live in a mad world don't we guys?
