Unfortunately, the next 30 days is the second most stress inducing period of the growing season, but yes, after July 4th-ish, things will relax a bit until harvest.


In regards to payday, I hope, but grapes are a little unique in that we usually don't know what we'll be paid until after we have sold the crop. And I won't actually see any payment until 2015 at the earliest.

Mixed feelings.  I'm thrilled there will be a new baby in the family that I can smother with love and kisses like I did my own.  This will be grandpa's child to spoil and everyone knows it.  But on the other hand I'm not ready to cross that grand parenthood line yet.  The children I brought into the world are now repeating the inevitable cycle, and it shades a pall on my own inevitability.  It's a natural reaction, I suppose.  It needs time to sink in.

So I just pulled off my best impression of Andy Dufresne in The Shawshank Redemption..  Warden Norton threw me in the message board hole for 30 days. It was dark, damp and smelled like cheese. I even saw TMD's name carved in the thick, sweaty concrete that encases evil encumbered message board spirits..  Little do these so called wardens know, they can break my body, but they will never break my spirit.. 

 

These wardens will also be happy to know, that during my time in the hole, I've not only read the message board CoC, but I also memorized it.. "Do as I say, Not as I do"..  Lesson learned..
