Deji Karem was a speed demon and didnt stick here. He did make impact plays for the colts though (couple fumbles). I'd rated Grant as a better project.


He's a guy I hope finds a home on the roster and sneaks in snaps. Likelihood is slim.

True that is a good comparison until he proves himself.  A fast 40 doesn't always mean success in the NFL but Grant is an inch taller than Witherspoon & over 25 lbs heavier combined with better hands, a better broad jump, the way he summed himself up in this interview

To go along with his 4.26 in the 40, Grant put up 225 pounds in the bench press 22 times, landed a broad jump of 127 inches (10 feet, seven inches) and posted a 37-inch vertical jump. Compared to the players at the combine -- Grant wasn't invited -- he would have finished first in the 40-yard dash (Jeremy Langford was the fastest running back at 4.42 seconds), 10th in the bench press and seventh in the vertical jump.

To me out of all the undrafted rookies he stands the best chance to be another Allen Hurns (a pleasant surprise during preseason that becomes a star during the regular season and if does GM Dave Caldwell's job will be safe regardless of how the season turns out.

Grant wouldn't have been a UDFA in many drafts (much like Hurns in last years crazy deep WR class).

There's a video of him on Youtube running a 4.02 during a game. Now he was already running as opposed to starting from a dead stop, but still it's incredible considering he was in full uniform. Actually, it was a little over 40 yards because he was running at an angle and they timed him as he gained 40 yards on the field. The kid's speed is legit, and he has great hands making him an ideal 3rd downs back provided he can block.

Sounds like a Youtube on Secretariat's Belmont as they timed him picking up speed. "Secretariat is moving like a tremendous Machine!" Brings goosebumps just typing it. A great horse that could have been a tremendous running back with that speed.
