Man, I am hyped up about this season! Finally....

#21

We upgraded so many spots and finally have competition all around the field. Of course the Jags are still an extremely young team and that is OK. I think this will be year Jags make some strides and should be in every game. After this year we SHOULD be talking about how 2016 we will be playoff contenders. This is by far the most excitement I've had going into a season in a long time. Time to enjoy the ride and sit back and watch as the national media slowly loses their mind as the Jags become relevant again.

2016 is the year they've been planning on.

That's when they expect to kick the freaking door open.

I REALLY hope that happens!

"Next season though!"

Jags fans ever year.

I know 2016 is the year they are looking at but if Gus has another start like hes has the past 2 years, he won't be the coach of this team.

Quote:Dont think Gus is a bad coach. But im not sold on Olsen. I guess its wait and see. I dont have high hopes though.

Ditto. We have talent. Some great free agency signings. I think the only thing that is unproven right now, and what makes me the most leary, is whether or not Olson can orchestrate a successful offense. He went from QB coach in 2012 with the Jags (we all know how that turned out), to offensive coordinator for the Raiders on 2013-2014. After 2 dismal seasons with the Raiders, he comes back to JAX with a promotion. I hope that he has it together. I'm so ready to start seeing us win some games.

Quote:In before the 'Bradley is a crappy coach' crew.

I think Gus' strength is as a defensive minded coach. He needs to get better as an offensive minded, and all around really, coach. He doesn't seem to make a lot of great half time adjustments and also seems to get out coached by the better coaches in the league.

He is still pretty early in his head coaching career and really hasn't had a whole lot of talent to work with.

I really hope that as the talent level increases on the Jaguars, Gus is able to bring the Jaguars back into relevance and compete for the AFCS title and then deep into the playoffs.

It does seem the players really like to play for him and that's a great thing, but at some point, WINS will matter.

I survived the Gus Bradley Error.

Quote:Finally we have a HC that knows how to flat out coach. He is our guy. Boselli said he will coach a super bowl one day on 1010.

We drafted a young rising QB in Bortles who has a laser for an arm and great size.

We have a RB that has game breaking potential. We will have a strong running game this year.

We have young WRs that all have something to prove.

And we finally have a pass rusher that plays with reckless abandon.

And our offensive line finally has competition and depth.

Even our kicker Scobee will do his thing, hey, if we need a 60 yarder, then i got confidence he will nail it.

Greene will return punts and Robinson will take the kicks.

I finally feel like we have a complete team. Oh and Colvin has 1st round talent.

Im excit

Well there's no argument that he's a great motivator and high energy players coach. But he's only won what 7 games?! He may not be crappy but let's not imply that he's average good or great. He better win soon.
This^. I would like for Gus to succeed here in J'ville but so far it hasn't happened. What's more he has an OC with an established losing record working for him now. So does one HC with a losing record plus one OC with a losing record equal an improved season? We'll see. I would like to feel optimistic about the upcoming season but until we start winning, I'll hold my optimism in reserve.

Quote:I hope things work out for Bradley. Whether you like his coaching ability or not, players seem to really like playing for him, and they don't seem to quit.

Its mentioned a lot by players both on the Jaguars and from opponets including the media, but it HAS TO TRANSLATE TO WINS.

Its all about the wins.

The 3-year plan was too aggressive to build through the draft.   My position is they were able to acquire their players within 3-years but need 1 or 2 more years for full development to be playoff contenders.

Bradley's ability to coach is directly proportional to Bortles' ability to play quarterback.

Dave has said as much.

And they'll still have cash to spend on a couple guys that will hopefully put us over the top.

All hinges on the QB.

I sure don't feel happy about Dante Fowler.

I'm still hyped about the season.   Sure, Fowler's loss is kind of tragic, but I'm still excited to see if all the other players have improved the team or themselves enough to say we're on the road to contention.   So many new players, so many new starters.   No reason to get down.   Stuff happens.   There's a new season coming up.   I'm still anxious to see what we have.

Trying to be positive... the Fowler injury sucks, but one rookie, even the first round pick should not make or break our season.

But man it sure does feel like a punch to the gonads.

It just seems like every time we get a little momentum something derails us. It's uncanny

I'm going to go all JW on you here, but literally speaking, getting punched to the gonads feels a lot worse.   This feels more like, someone scratched my car while I was in the mall.

Of all the position units that could take it...that's the one.
