Upright and 16 games further into his career. More tds than turnovers would be the other other criteria for me.

I'm right there with you. Bortles is the type of QB that needs 3 to 4 years to develop.

Definitely more TD's than INT's. But I just want to be able to see growth (as a QB and as a leader) from him this coming season and for him to stay healthy.

If I had to put numbers on it, I'd say:

22 TD's

15 INT's.

 

Less than 20 total turnovers.

Yes but I believe one or the other may have a better statistical season this year. If Bortles continues to learn and play a full season I think the longterm outlook is more favorable.


The stats will be misleading, because the jaguars on paper and in theory will run much more than the Bucs or Titans.


In terms of forth quatters or game winning drives, Bortles must be able to finish well.

These numbers would make me happy. This shows movement in the right direction and would mean we are probably more competitive.

The 3400 is a little low I think.If he was knocking on the door of 3k with a really bad line,no running game and rookie receivers,than 2nd year should be much better.

At least,this is our hope.

I think these are some real-world stats that Blake has to follow to prove he can be mid-level everyday starting QB. You'd like to see his pass attempts go up into the 329-355 range.  You'd like to his completion attempt to increase into the 60-62% range. And ideally his Passing per attempt yds go up into the 6.6yds.  His passing touchdowns should go way up into the 25 range, and INT should be about not quite as good as 2:1.  Finally, I think Blakes QB rating would have to be above the 80 mark.

 

The eye test is important as well, but way less reliable than recorded stats.

Here's hoping he doesn't start deflating balls.  


Not sure about 3DQB.  I mean they've worked with Brees and Brady, but also worked with Terelle Pryor and He Who Must Not Be Named.


Obviously you can't make chicken salad from the stuff chickens leave lying out in the yard.  I'm just curious if they've helped any developmental QB's who've got the talent to succeed but need work.

Yeah, but I get the feeling that Fisch had him throwing more than what Bradley was comfortable with, so we might see a dip in Attempts this season. And that's okay. If the Staff feels like that's a strength of the team, I'm all for it. Not saying that it will pan out that way, but it is something to think about.

 

Also beer. Beer is something to think about.
