I watched ajayi highlights and I wasn't impressed,he's kinda like Robinson and we don't need another one. I like Coleman and Yeldon but I'd rather go wr then rb in the 3rd

Maybe smith or strong in the second? Thoughts?

Quote:I think a sleeper is Matt Jones who can be had later. Great size, built for the NFL. Never produced last year like he could with no QB who could throw it down field. Numbers much better then expected.
heck no he's just a poor mans Trent Richardson. I'm a huge Gator fan and wouldn't touch. Be better off taking late rd flyer on Mike Davis from South Carolina. I think Coleman is pick at 36!

Based on what. They are built completely different and in college Richardson ran behind the best line in football with an offense already suited for the NFL.

No one is saying draft him in the 1st rd., 3rd overall like Richardson. He can be had in the 4th, maybe 5th. For his upside, and everything that worked against a back in college, it is well worth the pick for a RB needy team.

This poll needs an Other option. I think we should wait a year and pick Ezekiel Elliott.

One player who isn't getting talked about, but who we brought in for a visit is Auburn's Cameron Artis Payne. He looks like a slippery runner with the ability run wriggle through gaps. And our coaching team clearly saw something worth further investigation...

Love Elliot and his running style.

Seems to have a good mix of size/speed/strength/agility.

Out of the options i like Coleman.

As for the Matt Jones comments,

I think he will be a FB in the NFL

Coleman, hands down, is the only back I'd want to see us draft in round two. Ajayi's got issues with his knee and lacks breakaway speed, and Yeldon runs like his feet are stuck in the mud at times. Duke is a glass cannon.

Did anyone say Matt Jones has a fullback type body and good blocking ability? I never got the impression he was playing the wrong position in college.

6'2" 231, runs a 4.6, noted as a good receiver.

Seems like a solid fullback/H-back prospect if you can teach him to block.

Historically speaking, the league's most successful RBs have been found in the 2nd round.

I would probably sit around till round 5 then take Cobb. Then take a flyer on Davis out of South Carolina with my 7th

Anyone think Yeldon could have been had in round 3? Even Coleman is still on the board (guess the reported trade-up into late round 1 was BS). I thought there'd be a run on RB's. Guess not.

Quote:Probably meaningless but Dempsey said there has been talk in Chicago that Yeldon is the running back they want.
Not meaningless evidently.  A good "source" for a change I guess.  I heard him saying Yeldon around 5:45 pm and I was like, no way.

Not a good pick IMO.  Yeldon would have been there in the 3rd the way this is going.  Heck, Coleman may even be there in the 3rd.

Not a huge Yeldon fan. Hope I'm wrong.
