Greg Jennings visits Jax - signs with Miami

#21

I tweeted Greg Jennings yesterday asking if he was coming to the Jags. As expected I received no reply. Lol.

Quote:I was reading some comments on PFT that suggested he caused some problems in past stops. I don't anything about this, but does anyone else? They revolved around his sister and Bridgewater (I think).
There was some friction between greg and aaron but he's taken responsibility for it saying he didn't handle it the right way. since then his record seems clean.

Quote:@ryanohalloran: Told Greg Jennings-#Jaguars "just a visit for now," so unlikely it's a fly-in-and-sign-on-the-same-day deal.
That could always change.

Dan Wilkins reported it as well.  I see no harm in it too.  59 catches season last year for 742 with 6 TDs.  31 is a fair age too, can squeeze another 3 quality years from him at least, barring the unforeseen.  God fearing married man, good size, pedigreed, probowler, superbowl champion, etc.

Better than Crabtree and non divary like him.  More viable than Wayne.  Likely the best of the unsigned FA WRs.  But I wonder, why did Minnesota say goodbye and why still unsigned when the likes of Shorts etc are all booked. I know age, but...there's got to be more to it, no?

They've waited long enough to make this a less expensive signing if it happens.  His experience and ability to produce would certainly help this offense.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

This would be a great addition. I think getting him puts to rest the need and speculation for a WR at pick 3, and allow us to concentrate on defense, with a solid RB at pick 36. I had to Google his 2014 highlights (see link below). Still looks like he has some game.

I vote yes.

Does my vote count?

I am on vacation, have time to log in and pass on the votes to the 'agba agbas' and I say yes, your vote counts.  Anybody in Ponte Vedra counts.

Quote:He'd be 3rd.
he definitely wont beat out Hurns, he wont beat out Robinson, and I dont think he will beat out Lee either. So the only way he will be the 3rd WR is if one of those 3 get hurt

If it's a low cost short term deal, I am all for it.  My fear is that Jennings is still hoping for a fairly good size payday, in which case I would pass (no pun intended).

would be nice if we could get both

The Jaguars are meeting with WR Greg Jennings.  If all goes well, Jennings could end up signing with the Jaguars.

I'm not a big Hurns fan. Double catches too much and struggles with stupid drops.

1 Robinson. Best and highest ceiling.

2. Lee. Opposite on the outside. Came on strong and flashed.

3. Jennings in the slot. Veteran. Reliable target for Bortles.

4. Hurns. Back up out wide.

It's also worth noting that Allen Robinson is coming off a fractured foot. Marqise Lee was a slight disappointment as a rookie. - Rotoworld

Makes me think that the Jaguars might draft Amari Cooper with the 3rd overall pick instead of signing Greg.

I am not a big Greg Jennings fan, and I would rather take a young promising Hurns over him any day.

Almost identical targets / rec ratio for dropped passes with similar yards and the same touchdowns, but Hurns was a rookie & Greg was a seasoned veteran.

case close Hurn wins

I disagree I dont think every veteran player benefits young players with his presence (Holt), except when that player is a natural teacher (coach).

I think Jennings is equal to Hurns and at least Hurns was a rookie whom has time to learn and improve while this is probably Greg's last year (if the Jaguars sign him and if not he'll probably go unsigned).

Would be better than the Jerry Porter, Torry Holt and Mohammed Massoquai signings. Steady producer.
Only a chump boos the home team!

I'm surprised we've not been linked with him sooner. Sounds like a great mentor for our young receivers.
