Since we couldn't get Randall Cobb..

Quote: Cooper can be the bonafide number 1 WR and Tandon Doss can be our return guy. Doss led the league in 2013 in average punt return yards but got was on IR last year and he will be back .  So yeah, If we go a WR in the first 2 rounds give me Cooper in the 1st and we have out number 1 WR for years to come.

Nice. I forgot all about Doss. So, who does kickoffs?

Quote:When I read "4th round slot WR" - I immediately thought of Ace Sanders and threw up in my mouth a little.

After seeing the visits, I began to think Dave likes the idea of Rashad Greene in the 3rd to take over the PR/slot role

Rashad Greene is not a good punt returner.

He is the Alvin Pearman of punt returners.  Just goes back there and fair catches it & calls it a night.

Get Lockett in the 3rd. Position locked up for the next half decade.

That right? idk, just read somewhere he had 2 td's from punt returns. Im gonna checkout some highlights when I get a chance. I do remember seeing him at the combine thinking he looks like what an alien might look like if we saw one. Random

Well this guy certainly doesn't fit the bill name-wise...

He would be very good value at the top of the 2nd round, but I think we wait until the 3rd or 4th round before addressing WR. Dorsett or Lockett would make a lot of sense at the top of the 3rd round.

I like lockett a lot but if he is a 3rd round pick and we can get smelter in say rd 6, I'm taking smelter all day.

Assuming he is there, I would agree that Smelter would be much better value in the 6th than Lockett would be in the 3rd.

I don't see Smelter falling that far though. Even with the ACL tear, he has too much upside and a WR desperate team will take a flier on him early on day 3.

Jags02, I can't use the quote feature, or even copy and past apparently, but I'm skeptical that a RB or WR is a positional target for round 2.  At least, not at 36 overall.  There are just so many of them out there to get later.  Sure, if a guy like Gurley falls to you that is one thing, but I see round 2 as a chance to add an OL or DL, or one of the top LB, or a corner who can convert to FS.  Or just grabbing a talent who somehow slipped into the top of the round and is too good to pass up.

I also do think that if a guy like Cam Erving or Preston Smith lasts till 36, we should get him ahead of the "skill" guys.

I'd like to get Duke WR Jamison Crowder in 4th rd. why isn't anybody bringing him up by name. I also doubt Lockett is there in 3rd. Dorset doesn't have very good hands anyways.

Yep, day 3 seemed like the right amount of interest that Dave showed to me. Solid.
