Thought on his career............

He will always be second best. I don't care how much pub he got.

One of the best Jaguars of all time. Will miss watching him play.

Fair point but Freddy T was the 9th pick in the draft so played up to his billing. MJD was pick 60 (before RB's stopped being drafted high) and played above that level for years.

Good player with one great season.  Oakland really is the black hole for veteran players.

Quote:It was time.  Wheels fell off the last two years.  He made the games fun to watch when he first came out.  Too bad he became a jerk (it seems) and let the money get to him later in his time with the Jags.

With his personality, he should find a TV job out in L.A. though.

Interesting he did not mention the Jags in that written statement above.  I wonder if he will want to retire as a Jaguar, a la Fred Taylor?

If he specifically identified them as Jaguars fans, what do you think Raiders fans would say about that? The lack of fan identity probably is because he likes both Jaguars and Raiders fans.

Los Angeles would be great because he went to UCLA, but it is far from certain he even wants to work there.

He had three seasons with 1600+ all purpose yards and 3 other seasons as the second RB totaling over 1100 yards from scrimmage.

Not to mention 65 TDs.  I think we can give the guy a little more credit than "one great season."

He deserves a spot in the Pride. If it wasn't for him carrying us, I would've given up. Those were dark times, but without him it would've been much much worse

Mojo was the man. Being short I've always liked his swagger and confidence on the field. He took down the gaints. I'll never forget when he planted Shawn Merriman. One of the greatest moments in his career. His time in Jacksonville ended badly, but I am sure he still has love for the city of Jacksonville and the Jaguars.

Best of luck to Maurice Jones Drew and God bless him.

Just shows how very special Freddie T is compared to the majority of the league at his position.

Birth of the Franchise - November 30, 1993
Death of the Franchise - November 29, 2011

Fans deserve better. Thanks for all the good times too many are in the past.

Good decision by MJD,

Congrats to MJD on a great all around career.

At the very least,  hopefully he will eventually sign a one day contract with the Jaguars and have a day in which he's honored by the franchise.

When he was at his best, few could touch him. When it went bad, it happened quickly. I'm glad he decided to call it a career. The past couple of seasons were almost painful to watch when he was on the field.

Definitely a Pride candidate in a few years.
Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Counting his KR yardage, he got over 2000 yards his rookie year (along with 16 TDs) and over 1900 his second year along with 10 TDs.  He had a very good 6 year start to his career, and I'd definitely say he had more than one great season.

Still unbelievable that VY won ROY over MJD.
