Randy Gregory Highlights

#21

Still think the Jags stand a fair chance of landing Williams at #3 If not I would try really hard to move down and look at Fowler, Sheldon or Collins. Just not on the Gregory or Ray bandwagon although I am going to keep an open mind.

Yikes.  He weighed 218 before the combine.  That's not a very good sign.

Talk about Slim Pickins?

Not the best weigh in but not a death blow. If he's able to prove the weigh loss will translate to better agility, its going to keep him in consideration for our pick. But he's got to blow it out of the water like von miller or mack.

I'll wager Gregory is off our board.  Not because someone is taking him, but because he doesn't fit.

<p class="" style="color:rgb(41,47,51);font-family:Arial, sans-serif;">RT <a class="" href='https://twitter.com/LRiddickESPN'>@LRiddickESPN</a>: Talking about Gregory as a 43 DE in the NFL is pointless, and always has been. Same with Shane Ray. They are 34 OLB's.

And that sentiment isn't about the weigh in.  It's the kind of rusher he is, period.

At this point it's almost comical.  How possibly could you draft a 218 pound DE #3 overall?  Telvin Smith was undersized at 218, and he's a 5th round linebacker.

In case there's confusion, Gregory is NOT 218. He began his training at 218, and weighed in at 235 today.

To add, the 218 weight was speculation.

Yep, Gregory is much better rushing in space than he is with his hand in the dirt, if an offensive linemen get's his hands on him forget about it, he doesn't have the strength/bulk to disengage.

It's still a ridiculous concept at 235 if we're talking about 3rd overall.  The fact that he added weight specifically for the combine (which may or may not stay on), and still is 235.  If the Jaguars are targeting him, which I doubt they are, they seriously gotta trade back.

You can cut and paste this analysis for Dupree.

I didn't like what I saw of him as a pass rusher.

Worst to 1st.  Curse Reversed!

I'm going to wait for the DL drills to say either way, but I dont necessarily agree. Barkevious Mingo went 6th overall at the same height but only 5 pounds heavier. If Gregory tests better, and teams feel he can add the weight again- I could see him making a case. Anthony Barr is another, if distant, example.

I haven't watched Dupree yet, this draft is loaded with 3-4 pass rushers, if you're running a 3-4 you have to be licking your chops.

The tape agrees with you but Dupree came in at 269. Definately shocked when I saw that- didnt seem that way on tape. If he can flash that speed at that size, sign me up. This is eerily similar to Zeke Ansah the year before he came out. Brilliant speed but got swallowed up on the edge. Right now I'd pencil him between 25-35. Would love to get a shot at him with our 2nd rounder.
