Trump’s Immigration Muslim Ban Excludes Countries With Business Ties

Quote:Maybe because the list includes primarily countries that contain terrorists or are hostile towards Americans?

Here's a bit of a hint. Though it may have changed but the countries on the list are countries where U.S. Navy ships don't visit. I've personally been to Turkey, Egypt, and the U.A.E. as well as Bahrain (not included in any list).

The primary list is pretty good, but I would include with an asterisk Saudi Arabia. I would ban "citizens" of the country but not necessarily the royalty from the country.
You don't think the royalty is dangerous? They fund terrorism. Look no further than Chechnya. And there was that one guy.. what was name.. Osama bin something.. where was he from again? That country hates us and their citizens are primarily responsible for the largest terrorist attack in our nation's history.

Trump excluding them only shows he doesn't [BLEEP] where he eats. But [BLEEP] the poor ravaged people of war torn Syria.

Spoiler: any journalist who asks why Saudi Arabia is not on the list will be labeled fake news.

Are you advocating more Syrian immigration?

I think the majority of the people trying to flee Syria are not ISIS, but patriots trying to defend their country against a dictator willing to use chemical weapons against them.

1.) that's not an answer

2.) defend means stay and fight.

3.) How's it working out for the E U?

4.) why do Syrians prefer the idea of creating a safe zone?

It's funny, Trump cited 9/11 as the reason for doing this.

“We only want to admit those who will support our country and love deeply our people,” Mr. Trump said on Friday before signing the order at the Pentagon. “We will never forget the lessons of 9/11, nor the heroes who lost their lives at the Pentagon.”

But the 9/11 terrorists came from Egypt, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.  Those are all exempt from the list.

So are any Trump supporters on this board going to come out and say he's making a mistake?

It's ok to support him and disagree you know.

Mistake with what? Trying to reduce illegal immigration and actually protect citizens by instituting a viable vetting program for those that wish to assimilate and contribute to the success of the United States? When are you non President Trump supporters going to actually stop whining about every single move and give that tinnest bit of a clue that you actually care about the United States?

Now Iran is retaliating and will not permit US citizens from entering Iran.

President Trump is poised to sign an executive order that would suspend all entry to the U.S. from seven Muslim-majority countries in the Middle East, according to a draft proposal obtained by Bloomberg News. His proposed list doesn’t include Muslim-majority countries where his Trump Organization has done business or pursued potential deals. Properties include golf courses in the United Arab Emirates and two luxury towers operating in Turkey.

If you cannot know whether they are ISIS or not, you should not let them in. He isn't keeping them from the USA because they are Muslim, he is doing it because these places produce terrorists and ISIS. ISIS has already embedded itself within the crowds of refuges so this is a prudent measure.

So what. They have never been friendly to American visitors. It is very difficult and can be expensive. In fact, an American can't freely travel within Iran. More times than not, travel has to be company sponsored or part of a tour group.

Maybe those with relatives and friends there?

There are multiple stories coming out about how good, law abiding, American citizens who originated from Iran, that have family in Iran, effectively being cut off from those back home.

Iran takes americans as political prisoners without any cause. Family or not, nobody needs to go there and give them another hostage.

Am I correct in saying Obama had all of these countries on a visa restriction list already? Where was the uproar for that?

Obama was not disallowing travel from these countries for people who already have green cards.

This is the way it HAS to be done, he is banning countries not individuals based on a specific criteria. Liberals would have a very valid argument if he made a swooping all Muslims ban that would be a horribly dangerous precedent to set. However saying ____ countries posses a threat and we are restricting immigration from those countries is 100% reasonable, constitutional and the way it should have been proposed to begin with.

I'm extremely happy he's not as crazy as he campaigned, perhaps his advisers said uh President Trump if we do it this way it'll protect the precedent from being abused in other ways later on, at least he seems to be listening to wise council.

He certainly wasn't my choice for President, but so far I don't disagree with anything that he's done.
