Tips for Insomnia

Quote:I take something at least once a week to sleep longer, but really the best thing (I've found beyond meds) is the widely published breathing exercises that help you slow your heart rate. Be careful with those sleeping meds man they can be addicting We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Well the obvious answer is to work hard all day long (I'm talking 14 hours long) until you're exhausted but for a lot of people that isn't possible.
I have no problem falling asleep but I do wake in the middle of the night. I have the TV on one of the news channels then roll onto my side closing my eyes but listening to the broadcast. Since they repeat themselves endlessly you can listen to the news without wanting to see the news. Eventually falling asleep. I consider that an effective medication.
I remember a while back I read a magazine article that said if you have trouble getting to sleep that you should flex different muscles of your body for a few seconds and then slowly relax them. You start with your toes, move up to your calves, then to your thighs, then your rear, then your belly, then your chest and back, then your neck and face muscles. Then you tense all of them at once, hold it for a few seconds, and then slowly relax your entire body. It actually used to work for me back in the day.

Quote:Be careful with those sleeping meds man they can be addicting Melatonin is the best. I take one every night and you can't get addicted to it. It's naturally produced in your body and it only speeds up the process. I usually take it every other night and have no issues if I were to just stop taking it. I had surgery a while back and there were nights I wouldn't sleep at all. Every single doctor or surgeon I talked to automatically said melatonin. They didnt even suggest a prescription pill for it. Edit: I know he said no pills and I was that way as well...but it really is amazing.

Quote:Shut up! I didn't know that. Yep...I just discovered this not to long ago myself! I'm all about the gummies!
