Trump Reinstates the Anti-Abortion “Global Gag Rule”

Quote:Does it take away funding for more than abortions? Do you know many pro bono doctors? C'mon.. this is a bunch of men deciding the rights of women. It's a dumb tug of war.

The "rights of women" don't include other people's money.

Do you pay more for abortions or unwanted kids? The answer is unwanted kids.

I'm not saying you want to. But if it's gonna save you money in the long run, you are wise to do so. That's excluding welfare costs.

Maybe we should be asking these questions to said kids.

This is assuming the state pays for them long enough to learn full sentences? Get real. They don't care about babies once they start filling diapers. That kid's on his/her own.

I am totally pro choice, but you act like it's either abortion or the woman is forced to raise a child she doesn't want. There is a third option, adoption. If you can't afford an abortion, and you don't want to raise the baby yourself, give it to someone who wants it and can raise it without needed the government to pay for it.

There is actually a couple of other options.

The women in question could just keep their legs closed in the first place (abstinence).

The women in question could pay for and use their own birth control.

The state doesn't pay for group homes or supplement the costs of foster homes? I'm not saying there aren't other options. But any unwanted child brought into this world is set up for failure before they reach elementary school. Those who fight so hard for anti abortion laws will fight tooth and nail to prevent funding for the healthcare and early child development programs that kid needs. So they grow up with very limited prospects. And are prime candidates for homelessness, drug addiction or crime. And again the largest demographic (over 50%) of people having abortions are those claiming to stand for the sanctity of life.

Find the root cause of the problem and solve it.  Personally I guess you could say that I'm "pro-choice" in that I don't care if a woman wants to terminate her pregnancy.  I just don't want federal funding for it in any way shape or form.

Notice I said adoption. Anyone can have a child, no questions asked. Whether they can afford it, if there are two parents involved, the health backgrounds of three generations of your family, whether you're gay, straight, or bi, no one asks any questions. But go adopt a child and every invasive question known to man is asked of you. I'm not saying give a child to anyone that asks without a background check and screening, but it shouldn't cost you thousands of dollars to adopt a child. If it's okay for a single woman to have a child, why can't they easily adopt one also? Or gay couples? Two loving parents are better than none, right?

If people wanted to avoid unwanted kids, perhaps they should not engage in the act that creates them.

And the rape and incest part is a fraction of a percent of all abortions. Had those been funded, you all would all still be crying like little babies.

What lies behind us, and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.

I still havn't decided if I agree with abortion or not. I mean on one hand I like personal freedom so I feel women should be able to do what they wish with their own bodies, but on the other hand I don't know how comfortable I am with life being extinguished when its possible it can survive and prosper.

Really is a conundrum.

Really is a conundrum.
Women have the personal freedom to control their body by having any kind of sex they want, or not having it at all.

Once they choose to exercise that freedom in a manner that creates a life they should not be able to extinguish that creation simply because it is an inconvenience.

My dad was adopted and my mom's mom was adopted (and my wife and I are strongly considering adoption since we are struggling with having our own), so I am very familiar and grateful for the other options that exist outside of abortion.

Can definitely agree with all this.

In the event of the mother's health being at risk from the birth or if the baby has a very very low chance at survival I think it should be allowed. Wanting abortion because you arn't ready to have a child is a cop out in most cases.

Take politics out of it, murder is wrong at any stage in life. After the first trimester its legal murder as far as I'm concerned

What's weird is that those who are anti abortion for being murder seem to never have problems with dropping bombs on people or capital punishment and usually have little empathy for anyone else.
