5 Most Annoying Things NeoCons Say
|
Quote:I'm always amused when people just throw a label out there and think they've said something. Oohh - "neocons" are such bad people. There, that's done - I've shown I'm much more pure then those stupid "Republicans". You really do wish it was 1880, don't you? You're going to keep beating that "small government" drum, aren't you? Don't you realize that that argument was lost about 80 years ago? Even Rand Paul and Ted Cruz don't believe in it. Give them a little power and see what they really believe. But that's ok - Wonderland is a nice place to live. Yup I'll beat the small government drum until I can speak no more. Even if Rand Paul and Ted Cruz didn't believe in it, doesn't change my belief in it. I don't let politicians dictate my beliefs. Always fun to re-interpret history huh? Also that article seems to be more "Things Neocons say that I disagree with" than legitimately terrible things they say. Like "Pledge of Allegiance"? Really? That's annoying? Because Neocons certainly aren't the only ones who do it.
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

Because Neocons certainly aren't the only ones who do it. Well it's an opinion piece tried to be up front about that. Certainly what the author finds annoying might not be what others find annoying or even disagree with. I just happen to agree with him so I figured I'd link it and discuss.

I just happen to agree with him so I figured I'd link it and discuss. Well yeah it's obviously an opinion piece. I just think it's far from a slam dunk, and not very spot on at all with regards to some of the worst beliefs of Neo-cons. At least two of the list are things that other groups say too -- pledge of allegiance, and 'those libertarians are crazy'. They also miss the point of "I miss george w. bush" which is more that they can't stand the policies of Obama so much that they'd prefer George W. Bush.

Quote:Obama is a neocon too...I was thinking the same thing. If the biggest beef is global intervention and acting as a global police department with our military, the drone queen would definitely qualify as a neocon. When they put a picture of John McCain in the article, they're backing that up. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Obama is just an extension of everything Bush did while in office. That's his point, there is no difference except on a few social issues between Obama and Bush. Quote:I was thinking the same thing. Pretty much true, and that's why I don't understand all the "sky is falling" from the right wingers about Obama. Obama is pretty much of a centrist when you really examine his policies. Maybe he's even a liberal, but to hear people calling him things like "radical Marxist" or "the Manchurian President" makes me think there's something more than politics at work here. Racist paranoia, maybe. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

Racist paranoia, maybe. Maybe? The guy is a Republican in everything but name. The consternation directed at him is clearly rooted in the irrational. Racist paranoia, maybe. Except the sky was also falling while bush was president it's the combination of bush and Obama over the last 16 years that has us in trouble
Bush nor any republican wouldn't have nationalized/socialized 1/5th of the US economy in this Health care debacle
![]() Quote:Bush nor any republican wouldn't have nationalized/socialized 1/5th of the US economy in this Health care debacle However he tried to nationalized the education system and created the big federal homeland security programs paved the way for fusion centers the NSA and TSA, bush was no friend of liberty We show less advertisements to registered users. Quote:Bush nor any republican wouldn't have nationalized/socialized 1/5th of the US economy in this Health care debacle He didn't nationalize or socialize healthcare. I don't know where you get that idea. That's not what happened. I don't want to launch into a whole healthcare debate, but really, to say he nationalized or socialized healthcare is ridiculous.
Quote:Ladies and gentleman, we have our first race card. I can't figure out any other way to explain this hysterical demonization of a guy who is basically a garden variety moderate to liberal politician.
Quote:I can't figure out any other way to explain this hysterical demonization of a guy who is basically a garden variety moderate to liberal politician. Uhh... the political parties do it all the time? Democrats demonized Bush. Republicans Demonized Clinton. The Democrats demonize Reagan. Bringing race into it is unwarranted. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth everytime I see it. And as often as the libs do it, it's why I won't vote for them either.

Quote:Uhh... the political parties do it all the time? Democrats demonized Bush. Republicans Demonized Clinton. The Democrats demonize Reagan. Clinton never experienced the level of hate that Obama has. I think this pretty much says it all: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl...ocIH4#t=39 Quote:Maybe? Wait a minute now, let's not get crazy. I think if you look at some of his appointments and some of his political allies I hardly think he can be classified as a Republican - but your core point is probably correct - many of the people who went crazy when the left would call Bush a fascist have no problem in calling Obama a Marxist or some such.

I don't let politicians dictate my beliefs. I don't care if you beat the "small government" drum. You can also say the earth is flat. I'm just trying to point our that a political program that wants to return to 1890 will not be successful. Who is reinterpreting history? Is that what it's called if you don't like it?
