Why the hell would we draft a receiver of all things in the first.

We won't. Don't worry about it.

The only way we'd get Cooper is by trading down (slightly) and having Cooper fall in the draft ---  Jags trade the #2 pick down to #10 --- Cooper falls due to a less than impressive camp in which he runs a 4.55 forty.   That won't happen because apparently Cooper has a 4.40 or less time.

I would be very upset if we hung onto Shorts.  I can't stand him this year.  He does not fight for the ball, or run back to it on comeback routes.  It's very frustrating, and Shorts has hurt our rookie QB more than once with that non-sense.  PLEASE let this broken hamstring walk.

We won't. Some guys just get hot in their pants for skill position players. Same reason that so many local yokels think the Jaguars would take Gurley in the top 5.

I got a fever, and the only prescription is more playmakers

The defense is allowed to have playmakers as well

When our offense is averaging more than 15 pts a game we can worry about that

The only way we keep the injury prone Shorts is by signing him to a 1 year deal worth ~ $800k to see if he can stay healthy and pretty much showcase his talent in what will be his 2015 Contract Year.  This contract year has been horrendous for him.

We're averaging 15.66667 points per game.   Last I checked 15.66667 > 15.0

I should have gone to MIT !!!!   Wallbash

I cant see us taking AC unless we trade back out of the top 10 and for some reason he slips. Im not sure how I would feel as well if we did take another WR so early.

Shorts has been a major let down for his contract year and all. If we signed him to something cheap because no one else wants the injury prone player than Im okay with it.

Sanders so far has not done anything but he has some games left to win us over.

Quote:No need to use 1st rounder on WR, i bet they go de and get shawn oakman, his play style and attitude fits the jaguars very well. his story is very inspiring he is 6'9 290 pounds JJ watt is 6'5 and 288 pounds. He is huge. But anyway is Blackmon comes back we will be alright. Blackmon, Robinson, Lee in slot and Hurns is depth and maybe a Julius Thomas TE and thats something to fear.

I agree that WR will not be a priority in the upcoming draft. Defensive help is Much Needed at the LB positions. If there's an Cannot Miss defensive prospect no matter the position then we take him while addressing the needed LB positions early in the draft. Caldwell has proven that he can find quality players throughout the selection process regardless of the rounds...

I already see it coming. At this point in time the hatred is clearly on Poz's shoulders. By the end of the season Poz will have to give up the hatred designation because CSIII is moving up the rankings fast...

So if you want a better replacement at the MLB spot that can cover guys in the passing game and good against the run means you hate the guy? You just get butt hurt when someone tells it how it is. I think Poz is a great leader and love his heart but don't think it will be the hard to replace him through the draft and we need an upgrade at the position that is not a liability. It's like you are his wife or something. I haven't heard anyone say they hate Poz

I personally think we are fine at reciever.  I'd rather go for a tight end in the draft.  I think we need to incorporate some new blood at that position.

I doubt it that we take a WR in the first 2-3 rounds. Im pretty sure this draft will mainly focus on building the defense since this year many defensive studs are coming out. That being said, supplement in FA and build through the draft. One of the main reasons why Dave hired Gus when we really needed a OC has a head coach was because Gus can develop players. He has the track record and he can do it and it seems to be working here. The results will follow but for now i trust what dave and gus are doing and if Dave is brining Blackmon back so be it because we all know what Blackmon was able to do and he will do the same when he gets back

Robinson

Hurns

Lee

Blackmon (see what kind of shape he's in if he returns)

Sanders

No need to re-sign Shorts; Hurns has made the mediocre and injury-prone Shorts expendable.  I don't see them going WR in an early round. My early guess is DE.

Actually i would sign him to a 3 year 9mil with a small bonus, plenty deserving for a 4th pick and always in the mix from 1 to 4th wideout. Another team will surely take him for more. Hes good depth and veteran.
